List of China Apps Banned in India

The government of India banned 59 Chinese apps because of several reasons, including safety and privacy measure under section 69A. Section 69A is the provision that includes the Information Technology Act, which is a safeguard and blocks the public access to the information.

Banning these applications is a digital strike by India on China in the middle of LAC tension. A person who doesn’t want to reveal his identity has shown safety concern in regards to the Chinese applications. He has said that Chinese apps have been in use for a long time, and there found some safety issues like leakage of data. Not just this, but also the ministry of electronics and IT (MEITY) stated about getting the same complaint from different sources. A complaint claims the misuse of applications on several devices and has been found using the data of users in an unauthorized way outside the country’s location.

Before taking this decision, the government of India addressed all the angels. Doing this, India has shown concern to the privacy of 130 crore Indians. “It is an act under threat to sovereignty and security of our country.” Banning these apps could call a severe blow to these Chinese companies. After this, many other countries can walk the same way concerning the privacy of their natives.
